Elevating the standard in primary care.

Most primary care is a five-minute hand-off. This is the alternative — a physician who knows your name, knows your history, and has the time to actually treat you.

Frequently asked

What patients want to know.

Direct answers to the questions we hear most. Don't see yours? Send us a message.

Are you accepting new patients?

Yes — Ridgewood Primary Care is currently accepting new adult patients across all services, including primary care, Suboxone treatment, Vivitrol therapy, and medical weight loss. Book online or call (201) 689-1900.

What insurance plans do you accept?

We accept most major commercial plans and Medicare. Common plans include Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare. Self-pay rates are available for visits, MAT, and weight-loss programs.

Call (201) 689-1900 to verify your specific plan before your first visit.

Is Suboxone treatment confidential?

Yes. All Suboxone and buprenorphine treatment is provided in a private primary care setting — no separate clinic, no waiting-room signage. Records are protected by both HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, the federal rule that gives substance use treatment additional confidentiality protections beyond standard medical records.

Do you offer telehealth visits?

Yes. Telemedicine visits are available for established patients for follow-ups, prescription refills, and chronic care management. Initial new-patient visits are typically in person so we can complete a full physical and lab workup.

What languages do you speak in office?

Dr. Alamjit Gill, MD sees patients in English, Spanish, Hindi, and Gujarati. Translator services are available for additional languages on request — let us know at the time of booking.

Do you offer school, sports, and DOT physicals?

Yes — we provide school physicals, sports physicals, camp physicals, DOT (commercial driver) exams, and pre-employment physicals. Routine physicals are typically completed in a single visit; walk-ins are welcome for standard forms during business hours.

Do you prescribe weight-loss medications like Wegovy or Zepbound?

Yes — when clinically appropriate. As part of a comprehensive medical weight-loss plan, we evaluate patients for modern medications including GLP-1 receptor agonists (semaglutide / Wegovy, tirzepatide / Zepbound). Treatment decisions are based on labs, medical history, and an honest conversation about your goals.

How does Vivitrol treatment work?

Vivitrol is a once-monthly intramuscular injection of extended-release naltrexone, FDA-approved for the treatment of alcohol use disorder and the prevention of relapse to opioid dependence. Patients receive the injection in-office every four weeks, alongside primary care support. Because it's monthly rather than daily, it removes the everyday decision around medication adherence.

Are walk-ins and same-day appointments welcome?

Yes — walk-ins are welcome during regular hours (Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM), and same-day appointments are often available for both established and new patients. For complex visits or specific services like Suboxone induction or Vivitrol injections, calling ahead helps reduce wait time. Call (201) 689-1900.

How long has Ridgewood Primary Care been open?

The practice has served the Ridgewood community for more than 30 years, providing care across three generations of local families. Today, Dr. Alamjit Gill, MD leads the practice with a focus on prevention, chronic care, recovery medicine, and medical weight loss.
